My impressions from IMM Cologne
Earlier this year, we attended one of Europe's largest and most significant Furniture Fairs and met up with our exclusive German partners to preview their new releases for 2024 - and they are truly fabulous!
I invite you to explore these wonderful new releases from Janua, Freifrau and Moeller Design. I am personally very excited to share these with you. Not all of these pieces have yet arrived to Australia and some are still in production. Although we do keep some stock of these furniture pieces, everything can be made to order in your choice of leathers, fabrics, timbers and metal finishes. Enjoy this little sneak peek!

Two brands, one heartbeat.
From the outset, Freifrau has worked together with the Janua brand, which develops solid wood furniture such as tables or sideboards. The Bavarian company develops and manufactures high-quality solid wood furniture and follows the same values that have anchored Freifrau's philosophy. Northern German brand, Freifrau, creates seating designed by some of the best designers working right now - Sebastien Herkner, Hoffmann Kahleyss, Hanne WIllmann and new up and rising star, ilja Huber.
Both companies are independent and autonomous. Two teams that think and act as one. Whoever takes a seat on a Freifrau chair at a Janua table feels the beauty of two brands in unison of a heartbeat. Their unbelievable European success is a great testament to that.
All Janua and Freifrau furniture is designed and made in Germany.

NEW | Marie Chair with no arms is launched | Originally released in 2023, the incredibly relaxing Marie chair is now available in a version without armrests, and named 'Mary'. A new wooden frame has also been developed for both versions, giving the design language a very unique and particularly homely touch.
The Mary chair, developed by Hoffmann Kahleyss, is also characterised by relaxed surfaces that my remind you of your fav leather jacket, as opposed to a stiff upholstery with taught surfaces.

a new concept | LOW DINING
|
NEW | "Low Dining" is a fusion of dining and lounge spaces | The current development of low dining, previously observed primarily in the outdoor area, is now also finding its way into exclusive hotel lobbies and private living areas.
Freifrau and Janua take up this movement and presents the chairs from the Nana and Marie collections with a lower seat height to work with low dining tables from Janua. As a pioneer in the industry, Freifrau has now developed the chairs in the Nana collection by Hanne Willmann and the newly introduced Marie family by Hoffmann Kahleyss Design with a slightly reduced seat height of 42 cm.
Freifrau's low-dining chairs are 5 cm lower than classic seating furniture, which allows for flexible placement at low-dining tables and next to sofas. This successful combination creates a unique experience of dining and relaxing in one and allows for un-cluttered apartment living, whereby the dining and lounging merge into one.

NEW | Mia Modular Sofa. The first modular sofa for Freifrau.
With Mia, the German designer Ilja Huber has developed a sofa system that embodies the perfect fusion of soft seating comfort and classic design. The versatile appearance of the sofa is characterised by flexibly positionable back and armrests, which are reminiscent of large-format cushions that support those sitting.
The eleven different modules available offer a wide range of combination options: from classic two- or three-seater sofas to spacious seating areas with opposite seating elements or cozy islands. The combined sofas are complemented by free-standing armchairs and optional cushions. Mia fits harmoniously into any environment, be it in the living room at home, an elegant lobby or a stylish lounge area.
