Hoptimist was relaunched in 2009, and today the decorative figures are bouncing again in both Denmark and the rest of the world.
The design today, is done in Ehrenreich's spirit. His basic idea was to draw the Hoptimists based on a circle and an ellipse, and that idea underlies both the classics and the new generation of figures.
THE STORY began with Hans Gustav Ehrenreich’s desire to create unique and beautiful pieces of art using natural materials. This passion for craftsmanship is evident in all of our products and has been carried on through generations. Each item in the collection weaves a story together, blending unique design, superior quality, and the natural beauty of wood. The home decorations are made with the utmost care that will be treasured for a lifetime.
In the late 1960s, Hans Gustav Ehrenreich created the 'happy movement' that has since found a place in Danish design history. There is a happy Hoptimist for every occasion, and you can always find a Hoptimist who wants to please wherever it ends up. Spreading joy and putting smiles on everyone's lips is the whole idea behind the Hoptimist.

The designer behind the original Hoptimists, Gustav Ehrenreich, would have made his Hoptimists from wood if he had the production facilities to do so. In 2011 his old dream was realised, when the Oak and Smoked Oak Hoptimists first saw light of day. In 2020 the Raw Oak finish was also added to the collection. The wooden Hoptimist is a 'forever' gift.
