Kirsten Carriol, a beauty industry veteran, couldn't find the perfect lip balm. While lamenting her chapped lips before a long haul flight, she remembered the wondrous feel of the lanolin on the sheep's wool - from her childhood spent on her Grandparent's sheep-farm in South Australia. She also recalled her Professor Father (an award winning research pioneer in the science of DNA) telling her 'the molecular structure of lanolin is the secret to skin moisturisation'. Growing up, lanolin was the only thing her parents used on her lips and skin. She realised that nothing had been as good since, so she decided to create Lanolips™.

[My good friend, and very clever lady, Kirsten Carriol is the creator of Lanolips. I have been a huge fan of her range and know that you will adore her meg-award winning brand as much as I do. The best of the best  - Terri, founder/curator,  top3 by design ]

Lanolin is 100% natural and animal cruelty free. It’s found on the wool of sheep that helps keep their coat protected and dry throughout the year.

Sheep's wool grows continuously; if it's not sheared annually the fleece will become soiled - and too hot and heavy for the animal. Lanolin is the animal-cruelty-free by-product of wool washing after shearing.

Lanolin is a unique, natural ingredient that works in 3 ways:

1. The molecular structure of lanolin mimics human skin lipids, making it the most skin-compatible ingredient around. More so than any other natural or synthetic ingredient in skincare.

2. It is semi-occlusive and semi-permeable – meaning it allows skin to self-hydrate from within.

3. It is a moisture reservoir, holding up to 400% its weight in moisture.

Which is why Lanolips call it 'Natures Wonder Moisturiser™’

The lanolin used in Lanolips Original 101 Ointment™ is the Ultra Pure Medical Grade Lanolin. Lanolips lanolin goes through a highly specialised and patented cleansing process, which makes our lanolin the purest, creamiest, most luxurious and decadent lanolin in the world.

lanolin - MYTHS + FACTS
Lanolin is a natural product of the wool industry. It is a substance extracted from the fleece once it has been removed from an unharmed sheep once the sheep have been shorn. It’s vegetarian-friendly. Lanolin is no more cruel to animals than drinking milk, using beeswax, eating honey or even wearing wool. Lanolips is proudly animal cruelty free
