DESIGNER | Grounded Craftwork

Grounded Craftwork is a Danish, innovative design with local roots, known for unique furniture and unique wooden accessories. The designs often come in series, and common to them all is their original design with a sense of lightness in their appearance. All Grounded Craftworks products are designed and manufactured by hand in Christian Riis' joinery workshop in Copenhagen.

Christian Riis works with a wide range of materials: oak, ash, walnut, linoleum and wool. Common to all of his work is that the design stems from the strength and properties of the wood. He processes the wood with a keen eye on his overall design, an approach that allows him to build a bridge between the material, design and craft and to create completely unique products.
