Part of the enjoyment of a great glass of wine is in the presentation and these elegant contemporary red wine glasses give your vintage the respect it deserves. The gentle grooves not only add an Art Deco inspired detail that catches the eye but also have functionality allowing the glass to be held firmly.

Swedish royal prince Sigvard Bernadotte was one of Georg Jensen’s very first design partners. His work combined a love of craftsmanship with a totally modernist eye and he was credited with taking the house from Art Nouveau to a more functionalist, Scandinavian aesthetic. His timeless pieces have inspired this contemporary Bernadotte tableware collection.

The red wine glasses come in sets of six and are made of lead-free crystal.

Dishwasher safe.

Prince Sigvard Bernadotte (1907-2002) was trained at the Kungliga Konstakademien in Stockholm in 1929. The following year he saw the Stockholm exhibition of Gunnar Asplund, which marked the breakthrough of functionalism.
This influenced Bernadotte’s own style and he incorporated the ideals of functional elegance into his design thenceforth. Shortly afterwards, Prince Sigvard Bernadotte and Georg Jensen began a long and fruitful cooperation, in which the new functionalism was at the centre of a more modern interpretation of the work of silver.
The prince’s long affiliation with Georg Jensen represents another chapter in the rich history of Scandinavian design. His Bernadotte collection has been and continues to be a favourite for generations.
