The SK08 Janua Butterfly Table, designed by Stefan Knopp, feels less like furniture and more like a quiet moment of nature captured mid-flight.

Crafted from two central planks of oak taken from the same tree and then unfolded, the tabletop reveals a perfectly mirrored grain, almost like wings opening, giving the piece its poetic name. Knopp, often called the “wood whisperer,” brings the material to life through his signature treatments of fire, brushing, and natural finishes, allowing the history of the timber to surface rather than be concealed. 

The result is a table with presence but not excess, where raw texture, symmetry, and craftsmanship come together in a way that feels both deeply grounded and unexpectedly refined.
