Road tested by “afternoons with Albert” founder Shane before they hit the shelves. Our Technical Weekender is no different. As a pilot for QANTAS, Shane has seen everything there is to see in bags and luggage. So, he knew what he wanted in his design. Once it was made, he put it through its paces and he gave it the tick of approval.
Made for easy loading and unloading, the Technical Weekender comes with top, front and rear handles – perfect for making a quick getaway. As a pilot for QANTAS, Shane has seen too many people struggle to get their bags down from the overhead compartment. The solution was as easy as adding a front and rear haul handles. Just grab and go.
The ALBERT Technical Weekender is made with a water-resistant cotton canvas body. So your clothes stay dry even if the weather isn’t.
An Aussie shed is where all great stories start. Afternoons with Albert is no different. Founder Shane used to spend his Sunday afternoons in his Grandfather’s shed. That’s where he learnt about design and functionality – from watching his Grandfather tinker away. It’s these principles that go into every product that we make. So, when it came to naming his brand, there was only one name that came to mind. His Grandfather’s name. Albert.

Check out the underside of the main opening on the Technical Weekender. It’s lined with Velcro (the soft side!). They are the first in the world to add this feature under the zipper. They put it there, so you can stick our custom-made MOLLE packs under the main opening. So now your smaller items stay put, and you can access them in a flash. Super simple. Super smart.
The large, double zippered opening on our Technical Weekender means it’s one-thousand times easier to pack and unpack. That’s just a guess. But no more wrestling your clothes in and out of a small, single-zip opening.
Honestly - every detail is so well thought out and the quality is remarkable - it is almost “over-specced”!

"There are few things more satisfying than watching the sunrise from the cockpit at 35,000 feet. One of them is seeing something you’ve created in use.
While travelling I see moments paused by unnecessary interruptions. I’m driven to fix those problems. I remember what Albert taught me and I create the things I see in my head.
Things that don’t yet exist. But that if they did would make the everyday a little better. Things made to last and evolve. To go where you go. So you can get lost in whatever it is that you’re doing."
