BRECCIA ROMANA STONE
PETROGRAPHY: The very fine grain matrix consists mainly of transparent quartz, with maximum grain size of 1 mm. Deposited in between are fine, white feldspar grains. The rock is decorated by dark-brown inclusions of the iron oxide limonite.

PETROGENESIS: Quartzite was generated by metamorphosis of already existing sandstone under high pressure and temperature in the lower areas of the earth's crust or during folding-up of mountain ranges. The previously very porous sandstone was compacted in this process and can now be polished. The quartzite was obviously for some time under high tectonic stresses which caused fine cracks. These have already been healed millions of years ago with limonite iron ore. This intruded along the clefts and "impregnated? the rock in immediate contact.

AGE: Pre-Cambrian (older than 570 million years)
COUNTRY: Brazil

Draenert has been producing sophisticated designer furniture in its own workshops in the south of Germany - in Immenstaad on Lake Constance - for over 50 years. The main emphasis of the collection is on dining tables, coffee tables and side tables as well as chairs matching in form and style, which also have innovative mechanisms.
They are market leader for dining tables, especially for stone dining tables. About 200 types of natural stones from all over the world in a company-owned stone park open to visit and fascinating customers every day.

In their modern workshops, master stonemasons, carpenters, painting experts, locksmiths and upholsterers manufacture dining tables, side tables, chairs, counters and individual pieces of natural stone, glass, wood, metal and leather.
Innovations and classics from Draenert have been an integral part of the sophisticated furniture trade since 1968 and inspire lovers of good design and quality-conscious people in Germany and the world.

In the manufacture, they not only focus on design, but also enrich it with functionality. This creates dining and coffee tables made of stone, wood and glass with patented pull-out mechanisms as well as perfectly shaped chairs with different functionalities.

Dr. Patric Draenert has been running the company since 2000 in the second generation with as much innovative spirit, quality standards and flair for art as the company founder Dr. Peter Draenert. In addition to the regular furniture collection, the manufactory also produces limited edition art furniture as collector's items that are exhibited in international museums and collections.
These were developed in collaboration with well-known architects such as Hadi Teherani, Ron Arad and Prof. O.M. Ungers. First-class workmanship is always the top priority.

The legendary stone park contains 150 different types of natural stone from all over the world - from the most remote areas between the Northern Cape and South Africa. The customer chooses his panel and determines the section from which a unique Draenert piece of furniture is made.
Ideas of transformation, mobility and expandability require a flair for innovation and joyful experimentation with new technologies. The proximity to the material is essential here. The interaction of draft, design, technology and material is a sensitive process that is essential if the product is to stand the test of time.
