Holding the paper away from you when you read? Sounds like Presbyopia. And that doesn't sound like a big problem to us. Izipizi manufactures everyday opticals that will help you with your everyday vision issues. The frames are available in a wide range of sizes and colours and also as non-optical sunglasses. Another example of simple well designed things that improve your every day.

See Concept (now known as IZIPIZI) was created in August 2010, after winning the "Prix Innover et Entreprendre" (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Prize), which enabled the business to launch its first product -See Up, the first self-service reading glasses.

In 2012, at the request of consumers who wanted to have this "useful and designer" object at home, See Concept launched See Home, the first reading glasses which you no longer have to search for at home.

After observing that the traditional reading glass product offerings were mediocre and lacking in style, quality and colours, See Concept launched LetmeSee, a fashionable range of 18 “unmissable” Designer, Colourful and Accessible reading glasses.

The company was the winner of the "Prix Innover Entreprendre" in 2010, the 'Made In ESCP' Competition in 2011, the "Graines de Boss" Competition and it carried off the MOOVJEE export prize in 2012. It joined the Entrepreneurship network in 2013.

WHY DO PEOPLE NEED MAGNIFIERS?

Presbyopia is a natural phenomenon linked to ageing of the eyes which diminishes the vision from the ages of 40-45 onwards. More precisely, it relates to the natural weakening of the power of the lens to adjust (the transparent lens within the eye) during reading. Presbyopia causes diminished vision when reading smaller letters and when in insufficient lighting conditions.

When someone begins to suffer from presbyopia, they are first forced to hold the reading material further away and look for better lighting. Then they will need to carry glasses with them for reading. In the absence of correction for visual acuity, headaches (migraines) will develop gradually, along with a burning sensation in the eye, generally at the end of the day.

Presbyopia can appear additionally to myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism, and is an unavoidable natural phenomenon. 100% of the population is affected by presbyopia (right now, or in the future).

To date, there are 22 million presbyopic people in France (one in three) and 700,000 new patients are identified every year. 160 million people are affected by presbyopia in Europe, and more than 1.7 billion are affected globally.

Faced with an ageing population, the number of presbyopics is constantly increasing: in 2020, 40% of the French population will be presbyopic (2.5 billion globally).
