The year 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of Unikko, one of the most recognised Marimekko print designs in the world. Piirto Unikko is a stylised, airy variation of the beloved floral created by Maija Isola in 1964. It nods to minimalism while emphasising the graphic lines of the Unikko pattern.
This set includes two Oiva mugs. The products are made of white stoneware and printed with the golden Piirto Unikko pattern.
Marimekko’s famous poppy pattern Unikko was born in 1964 in a time when the design house’s collections featured mostly abstract prints. Designer Maija Isola wanted to create something interesting from this organic theme and designed an entire range of floral prints. Today, the iconic flower represents creativity.
Please note: Due to the golden metallic details, Marimekko recommends washing the products by hand.
