Bump is a family of minimalist, borosilicate vessels designed to serve as the ritualistic instruments of every day drinking and hosting. Delicately handmade with subtle levels of green and grey tonal translucency, Bump offers an elegant approach to the alchemical processes of tea making, mixology and floral arrangements.
Manufacturing and materiality
Mouth-blown into an engineered graphite mould, Bump is made of borosilicate, the heat resistant glass familiarly found in science laboratories. Light weight, durable and able to withstand high temperatures, borosilicate glass is usually seen in a colourless and clear state, but here it is elevated by the rare translucent greens and glossy black raw material, that have been fused, blown and manipulated into delicate shapes.

Tom Dixon is a distinguished British design brand, renowned for its innovative furniture and lighting. The brand's eponymous founder, Tom Dixon, began his foray into design somewhat unconventionally—initially dropping out of art school and playing bass in a band before teaching himself welding and eventually becoming involved in furniture design.
Dixon's career took a pivotal turn in the 1980s when he began crafting furniture from salvaged materials. His work captured the spirit of the times with its raw, industrial aesthetic, distinguishing him from his contemporaries. In 1991, Dixon was appointed head of design at Habitat and later became its creative director, revitalising the brand with his unique designs.
In 2002, he established his own brand, "Tom Dixon," which quickly gained international acclaim.

Writing an introduction to the designs of Tom Dixon seems a bit obsolete – after all, he is a widely celebrated interior design superstar. He designed products from lighting to furniture, tableware through to candelabras. Tom Dixon's designs are instantly recognisable for their sculptural qualities and engineered materiality. And they'll grace your home with industrialised lux.
Tom Dixon is a restless innovator who works mainly in lighting, accessories and furniture. From his departure point in the early eighties welding salvaged steel into radical furniture, he has constantly reinvented himself through a series of different design lives – working with luxury Italian goods with Cappellini, Creative Director at Habitat and Artek, creating Plastics company Eurolounge and finally instigating his own eponymous brand in 2002 to rethink the product designer’s relationship with industry.
The latest chapter of Tom’s design journey began in 2002 when he left corporate life to create his own eponymous brand as a platform for a series of new adventures in the design of products and interiors.
